When residents can no longer look after the normal activities of daily living, our Registered Staff and Director of Care assess the need for Long Term Care. The Leamington Mennonite Home assists Retirement Residents and their families in completing the required documents for Long Term Care. We will also liaise with the Erie St Clair LHIN, which determines all admissions to Long Term Care, including those for our Home.
Our Retirement Residence offers an Intermediate Level of Care when possible. This would apply to any resident who requires Long Term Care. An additional $20 per day or $600 per month is charged until transfer to the Long Term Care Home can occur. This allows for additional staff to be assigned for care needs as required.
Residents requiring Total Care for all activities of daily living, including mechanical lift use, are charged $30 per day or $900 per month until transfer to Long Term Care Home occurs. This, again, allows for staffing adjustments to provide care as needed. The Intermediate and Total Care options are provided when Long Term Care transfers cannot be made. The Director of Care and the Administrator will advocate for both Intermediate and Total Care residents in order to expedite their transfer via the LHIN assessment and Wait List process to our Long Term Care Home.
Our Home offers Respite Care for individuals requiring transitional care after a hospitalization. Our services include all meals, laundry, and personal care that is provided for our Retirement residents. Our Respite rooms cost $100/day.
