Long Term Care

The Leamington Mennonite Home is a faith-based community of care, providing compassionate and comprehensive Long Term Care responsive to the individual needs of residents through a team effort, consisting of a multidisciplinary staff and family members, together with volunteer, Church and community resources, which place residents first in our circle of care and support.

A personal health assessment must be completed by the Erie St Clair LHIN. The eligibility for Long Term Care is based on an individual's need for assistance with activities of daily living, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, and toileting. Confusion and dementia can also be eligibility factors. If the individual is eligible for Long Term Care, their name is placed on our waiting list. Click HERE for more information.

We provide our residents with a bed, night table, dresser, sheets, linens, bedspreads, towels, and some personal hygiene products such as toothpaste, soap, and shaving cream. Upon admission, residents and/or their family members should bring two sets of clean clothing and underwear, as well as one set of night clothing. All clothing should be labelled by our Housekeeping Department before use. Please ensure that all new clothing is first brought to the Front Office or Nurses Station for labelling to avoid any misplacing of resident clothing.

Families may wish to bring some additional furnishings depending on the available space. Cogeco Cable is provided should the resident wish to bring a television. Telephones may be installed at the resident's expense, and they are responsible for contacting Bell Canada to arrange installation.
