Dear Leamington Mennonite Home Community,

As many of you may know, we have been working diligently behind the scenes over the past couple of years on plans for a new Retirement/Assisted Living Residence. We are thrilled to announce that the Leamington Mennonite Home plans to build an up-to-date, purpose-built Retirement Residence designed to better serve our community's needs.

Strategic Plan:
This project has emerged as a top priority from our strategic planning sessions with the Board of Directors and Management Team, reflecting the heartfelt requests of our current RR residents as well as a community survey. This special project continues to ignite our vision of putting residents first – through faith-based commitment, compassion, and community.

Feasibility Study:
The Building Committee is currently doing its due diligence as we work toward a comprehensive plan that directly responds to the needs identified in our recent feasibility study. This new Retirement Residence will prioritize thoughtfully designed spaces, including independent living areas and private restrooms for each resident, ensuring comfort, dignity, and a stronger sense of home for those we serve. We believe this facility will be a wonderful addition to our community, providing an enriching living environment for residents, staff, and families alike. Our mission persists, as our past legacy strengthens our dedication to compassionate care. Through faith-based values, we continually strive for excellence, accountability, and uniqueness in delivering the best care and well-being for each life we touch.

Residents:
We understand that change can bring uncertainty, especially for our current residents. Please be assured that a thoughtful transition plan will be in place, which will be communicated to residents and their families at the appropriate time. There is ample time before this transition occurs, as we are hopeful of opening the doors to a new facility in the next 5 years – there is a lot of planning that goes into a project like this. We are committed to ensuring a seamless process. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our Administrator, Jeff Konrad.

Capital Campaign:
To successfully execute this significant project, we will collaborate with various committees, including a newly formed Capital Campaign Committee. We are looking for community connectors to play a vital role in this endeavor. Please contact Jeff Konrad or Helga Enns, our Board Chair, if you are interested in joining this committee that will meet monthly over the course of the next two years.

LMH Community:
As we embark on this journey, we invite our community to unite and support this important initiative. While we are hopeful for successful fundraising efforts, we recognize that securing a loan may also be necessary to ensure timely completion. We invite you to invest in the future of the Leamington Mennonite Home, creating a welcoming space for both our current residents and future generations. If you’re interested in touring the current Home to witness the need firsthand or learn more about how you can contribute to this vision, please connect with Alexandria Fischer-Janisse, our Director of Development & Community Engagement.

Communication Plan:
We will be developing a communication plan for this project to engage you, our dedicated community, on an ongoing basis as details unfold. We look forward to engaging our stakeholders through marketing material, surveys, and capital campaign packages to ensure you walk with us throughout each step of this project.

Call to Action:
Together, let’s build a brighter future for our loved ones and our community! We ask for your prayers as we embark on this new journey for LMH residents and future generations who will benefit from this special dwelling place.

Thank you on behalf of the entire LMH Community!
